X, a tattoo

A collector commissioned me to create a painting that would ultimately become a tattoo. The painting captures a specific vision and has personally significant meaning to the client.

The vision includes luscious brushstrokes in a brilliant blue. Several tests were completed to ensure that the client’s very personal connection to their X concept was honoured. The commission involved 46 single strokes tests and seven double stroke tests.

This mockup demonstrates the application of the tattoo in the client’s desired location. The tattoo artist was given a digital version of the commissioned art. The client also purchased the original painting as a memento of their personal tattoo experience.
