Some pencil scratches and rambling

IGNITED CAVERNS

I was momentarily blinded by a flash of light from beyond the window pane.
I ignored it.
Then again a moment later.
And again.
I finally turned away from my reading and really looked.
Random flashes ignited caverns in the clouds, from left to right and everywhere.
The pace quickened and I realized that a storm is already warring above the clouds.
Its beauty transformed me into a Peeping Tom as I peered above the cityscape lights,
the bridge, the river, and into the celestial light show.

An acoustic fury crept in from the distance – slowly at first and then quickly.
The wind whistled aggressively at me through the door and window cracks.

Watching now all I see, from 19 stories up,
are the flashing cloud caverns and the infinite grey swirling mass of storm wounds.
No cityscape lights, no bridge, no river to see.

BREAKING THE MACHINE

Some people have always controlled other people.
I’ve come to terms with the idea that I can’t break the machine.
But I can give people who enter my ‘bubble’ the freedom
to be who they truly are and the best that they are capable of becoming.

ARTISTRY IS

Artistry is the mesmerizing beauty in an object, sound, behaviour or idea that impels a person to keep looking at it, to keep hearing it, to keep contemplating it. To create artistically is to be fully alive in the moment, birthing the beauty.

MY GREATEST MISERY IS IN THE MOMENT I AM NOT LEARNING.
